De Kameleon aan de Ketting is a 2021 Dutch family film based on the books of Hotze de Roos about the adventures of two identical twins and their boat, the opduwer De Kameleon. It is a sequel to the films De Schippers van de Kameleon (2003) and Kameleon 2 (2005).
Plot:
In the film, twins Hielke and Sietse Klinkhamer are once again faced with a challenge. Their beloved boat, the Kameleon, is threatened to be “put on a chain” due to new environmental regulations banning diesel engines. Meanwhile, a series of mysterious events are taking place in the village of Lenten, where animals are being poisoned and valuable items are being stolen.
Hielke and Sietse take it upon themselves to investigate both the threat to the Kameleon and the strange happenings in Lenten. Along the way, they encounter a colorful cast of characters, including a rebellious punk girl named Jossie, a kind-hearted farmer named Nando, and a suspicious antiques dealer named Bulatovic.
As the twins get closer to the truth, they find themselves in danger from those who want to keep their secrets hidden. But with their quick wit, determination, and the help of their friends, Hielke and Sietse are always up for a challenge.
